Why does my Toyota, Mercedes or BMW AC cut in and out?
On many Toyotas from about 2008 (including the Premio, Allion and Yaris/Vitz), and on Mercedes-Benz and BMW models, a failing compressor control (solenoid) valve can make the AC run for a while, cut out, and then sometimes work again. On the Toyota Premio this typically shows up after around 150,000 km. In the workshop's experience the usual repair is replacing the compressor and the condenser together.
Is there a warranty on the repair?
